have been a blog slacker lately but i am in love with these images and thought i would share...

well vacation was awesome.
and now i am back at work...

landon is obsessed with montauk so i have decided that since we always do what i want that maybe for a change we should do something he is excited about... sooo we are going to long island for our vacation. i would like to visit vermont as well but im not sure about that part yet. i spent quite a bit of time yesterday trying to find a campground that allows dogs only to realize that it is extremely difficult. we have talked about maybe getting a hotel room instead but maaaybe we just need to leave them home. i dont really like that idea as much but landon would like to do some adventuring that may not be dog friendly... im thinking without the dogs we might be able to go play in the city as well...

these photos have been waiting for 19 months to be published... dont even remember anymore what happened and why i didnt post them?it was a fun hike landon and i went on before he and i were dating. it was a stressful hike down the mt because it was getting pretty dark... super fun.

the sunny side of winter.
day one of my winter layoff.
today i:
filed for unemployment.
called the dept of human services.
worked on christmas presents.
listened to lots of music.
swept the floor.
washed some dishes.
spent $7.
sorta productive.
lets see if i can continue this trend through the week.

i hate winter.
i hate the snow.
the snow hates me.
it tried to trick me.
a couple days the snow was all stuck to the sides of the trees.
it was beautiful.
then this morning it was snowing and the sun was up
and life didnt seem that bad...
and i was all hey maybe snow isnt so bad after all.
its pretty.
it can be fun to clear off of roadways.
when you can see where you are going and arent overtired.
and then my truck broke.
bleeding transmission fluid all over the rite-aid parking lot.
and then it started to rain.
i went from being happy and ahead
to irate and way behind.
and completely soaking wet.

maybe just busy? i mean i did work for a whole 3 hours today.

this is the house we ate thanksgiving dinner in...
its the summer cottage of a coal broker. it was pretty much amazing.
i believe this dude over the fireplace was the man of the house...
love love love this stove.
this was one of my favorite things in the house...
it was a photo hanging on the wall in the kitchen.
this is the same structure that is in that picture...
the trees that lined the drive way were so old and awesome.
across the street there were old greenhouse buildings.
they were amazingly beautiful.
glenn and i went for a hike in the woods up behind the house...
we found this cool water storage thing. i cant remember what its called.
there were 2 cow skulls sitting at the base of it.
glenn had walked up ahead of me, so he had discovered the skulls before me, he walked back to where i was hiding one of them behind his back...

i think i am the only girlfriend on the planet that would actually be excited about opening my eyes to a cow skull in my hands.
this waterfall is the reason i had fallen behind glenn on our hike. it was so pretty i took a million pictures of it.
i ♥ moss.
this was our dinner table. it was set for 26 but we had one empty chair since marty wasnt able to come...
pretty much the biggest table i will ever sit at i think.

everyone was assigned a color vegetable to bring. such a good idea. we had pink mashed potatoes. who knew there were pink potatoes?

glenns family is pretty much the cutest ever. they danced between dinner and dessert.
glenn and his nana.

and looking a little like jesus.
minus the middle finger thing of course.
glenn and i in the hotel lobby after dinner and before bowling.
who us? drunk? no way.
bowling alleys are perfect for cousins of all ages thanksgiving night.

the next morning i needed coffee real bad. glenn and i went out for a walk and tried to find a coffee shop other than the dd across the street.
this place tricked me.

later that day we went to glenns aunts house and had day after thanksgiving sandwiches, checked out the chickens, and went to the playground.
glenns cousin megan likes chickens very much.

so ya. thanksgiving was awesome. glenns family is awesome. i was a little hesitant and sad about missing thanksgiving with my own family. i never have. but it was really good. glenn just got home and i want to talk with him instead of being a nerd on the puter.
